Tommy Chong, one-half of stoner comedy duo Cheech and Chong, owns Chong’s Choice, a cannabis company. Willie Nelson lends his name to Willie’s Reserve, Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus owns Leafs by Snoop, and Bob Marley’s estate has Marley Natural. With so much clout, it’s no wonder that celebrities are following suit and getting into the cannabis industry. But what about celebs who don’t fit the stoner stereotype and/or don’t want to be associated with? Enter Whoopi Goldberg and Melissa Etheridge, who have both recently launched brands that promote cannabis as a health supplement: Goldberg combatting menstrual cramps, and Etheridge promoting it as a form of cancer treatment. Former boxer Mike Tyson has also stepped into the ring, building pot farm Tyson Ranch 50 miles from Los Angeles. With so many celebrities looking to become involved, it’s hard to deny the allure of CBD.
